Originally from Honduras, Juan Carlos lived for twenty years in the New Jersey and New York area. While there, he was exposed to the art galleries and local museums, which planted his thirst and the motive to become an artist.

For the last seventeen years, he and his wife Dolly call South Florida "home". Although Juan Carlos has been drawing and sketching since childhood, he didn't start painting until he reached his early fifties. Encouraged by the support of his wife Dolly, in 2004 he entered his first juried exhibition and won best of show award which sold and was commissioned for another. Since then he has sold and won many awards for his works. For him, painting is a road of self-discovery in which every turn leads to a wonderful and marvelous outcome.
